Nintendo Switch Lite Now Available for Pre-Order on Amazon
Nintendo’s cheaper switch has been rumored for months, and the gaming powerhouse . The Switch Lite trims $100 off the Switch’s price tag and loses a few features. Still, the Switch Lite is expected to sell like hotcakes, and you can secure a unit right now. Amazon has pre-orders live for all Switch Lite variants, including the limited edition Pokémon version.
The Switch Lite has most of the features that made the Switch a massive success. It runs all the same games as the original Switch. The biggest difference is the lack of removable Joy-Cons. Instead, the Switch Lite is a single piece of hardware with controllers built into the body.
The display is slightly smaller LCD at 5.5-inches versus 6.2 on the old Switch. However, Nintendo has made the screen bezel match the body color of the Switch Lite, and it comes in some fun shades — all of them are available for pre-order on Amazon. There’s an if that’s your speed. There are also and variants. Finally, there’s the for Pokémon: Sword and Shield. It has blue and pink controls and sketches of the new mascot Pokémon from the game.
Amazon also offers bundles of all those colors with microSD cards. That’s a must-have for all Switch owners as the console itself has just 32GB of storage. Most new games are available as cartridges as well as on the eShop, and it’s easier to grab things from the shop.
All four versions of the Switch Lite are $199.99. The gray, turquoise, and yellow consoles launch on September 8th. The Pokémon version comes out on November 8th. Keep in mind, the new Switch Lite doesn’t support docked mode. So, any accessories you might have for docking an original Switch will go unused if you decide to get the handheld-only Lite.
